Our Story
Thelina began in 2019 with the addition of Australian Miniature goats to our small hobby farm. In late 2020 Sandra, Kirralee and Summer Hoffman of Kirrasumm Kidz graciously offered us the opportunity to add our very first Nigerian Dwarf, Kirrasumm Kidz Lil Kilimanjaro ND100 to our herd. In 2021 Jaro produced a number of gorgeous first cross Nigerian Dwarf kids who have gone on to be outstanding pets and home milkers for their owners.
Completely captivated by the Nigerian Dwarf breed and their sweet, clever, delightful personalities we took the leap and purchased our first 100% does from Michael and Ulrike Garwood at First Fleet Dairy Goats. In early 2022 we welcomed Aus Ch First Fleet Karina *Q* and Aus Ch First Fleet Louise *Q*. Followed by another buck Kirrasumm Kidz Jim Beam ND100.
Our resulting first homebred 100% kids were born in October 2022. Louise produced 2 lovely buck kids and a gorgeous doe kid who we named Lyanna. Not to be outdone, Karina gave us 3 beautiful doe kids, sadly we lost the first born doe at 6 days old. Fortunately, Katia and Karissa flourished and we consider ourselves very fortunate to have had 3 doe kids born to our stud in our first year of breeding fullbloods.
We took the plunge and attended our first shows in early 2023 with no experience or expectations except to learn the ropes, meet other goat enthusiasts and have some fun. We were warmly welcomed by the Tassie goat showing community and our goats received wonderful feedback from the judges, bringing home a number of ribbons. Its been a whirlwind so far and we are very excited to see what the future holds for our little stud and our beloved goats. We look forward to sharing our journey and our experiences with this wonderful breed!
